Who Can Join?
According to our bye law, membership is open to:
- Statutory Members: All non-consultant medical and dental practitioners fully employed at FMC Abeokuta — including house officers, junior registrars, medical officers, senior medical officers and senior registrars.
- Associate Members: Resident doctors from other institutions working at FMC Abeokuta temporarily.
- Life Members: Past members who have contributed significantly to the growth of the association.
- Honorary Members: Distinguished individuals who have supported the vision of the association.
Joining the Association of Resident Doctors, FMC Abeokuta (ARD-FMCA) connects you to a professional family committed to your growth, welfare, and voice in healthcare.
Whether you’re a house officer just starting out or a registrar in training, your membership guarantees representation, support, and access to professional development opportunities.
Membership Benefits
According to our byelaw, membership is open to:
- Eligibility to vote and be voted for (statutory members).
- Access to welfare support (health challenges, childbirth, marriage, bereavement).
- Invitations to all CMEs, workshops, and conferences.
- Discounts and funding for academic exams and publications.
- Use of the ARD Lounge and facilities.
- Participation in social, sports, and advocacy programs.
- Monthly updates on training opportunities and fellowships.
Dues & Payments
Annual subscription and levies are determined during General Meetings.
Members are required to fulfill financial obligations to remain in good standing.
Online payment portal for dues and levies is under development.
